February wrap-up

This month has been a really good month with reading even though i have been in a reading slump.

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare 5 stars
Me Before You by Jojo Moyes 5 stars
The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin 4.5 stars
City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare 4 stars

I was apprehensive at first to start City of Bones as i'm not a huge fan of the movie or the tv show, i surprised myself at actually how much i liked it which i had to get the second book in the series. Now with the second book i don't know how i feel about it i didn't love but i didn't hate it, it was just okay. I have a full review of City of Bones if you want to know more how i thought.
Me before you was amazing i can't wait to see the movie defiantly going to need to bring some tissues with me.

Overall this month has been a good month, i would recommend each one of these books.
How was your reading this month?

How to read more while you're at college.

As i am in my first year of college i have had to change my reading routine. Before my routine would be to read once i got back from school but now i can't do that.

So i thought i would share you some tips that has helped me to read more. If you have any tips to help please comment below.

My first tips is to get into a routine this really helps me as i get all my coursework done in the day once it is all done i can get comfy and read for the rest of the night, this works for me as i prefer to read at night so i am relaxed. Change your routine around see what works for you and stick to it.

I have only just started to do this but taking a book everywhere you go. I always find time to read in the day it is either when i have a free period or i don't have anything to do. It would surprise you at how much reading i can get done while i am at college. If you aren't doing this yet try it.

When you do get work to do try and do as much as you can at school or college, don't waist your time. This means when you get at home you won't have much to do. Which means more time you can relax with a good book.

Thank you for reading i hope these tips will help you.

Review: City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

Pages- 505
Genre- Adventure,Fantasy, YA
Release Date-
Published By- Walker Books

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder― much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing―not even a smear of blood―to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know...

My thoughts-
Clary didn't think going to a club would change her life. But it does. She will learn things about her family, about the city she lives in. But more importantly Clary will learn who she truly is.

This is the first book in The Mortal Instruments series. A brilliant start to the series.

Clary can get abit annoying at times once she has something on her mind she will do what it takes, She did have people's best intentions though. Jace is a shadowhunter born to kill demons, once he meets Clary he is determined to know more about her. At the beginning Jace is a fighter he is strong, confident, throughout the story you will learn there is more to him then you think. Which i loved it kept me reading i wanted to know more about him. Simon is amazing, he is a much needed character in this book. With everything he learns he takes it in his stride, with everything that happens he just wants Clary to be safe.

There is a little romance in this book, i wouldn't say it is the main focus (the main focus is finding Clary's mum). The romance between Clary and Jace isn't love at first site which i really liked as i have read many book where they fall in love immediately. They find each other annoying at first but with time they get to know each other, they figure out each other.

The pacing of this book is fast within the first couple of  chapters you have already met the shadowhunters and there's already been a murder, from there it doesn't stop there is always someone to safe or find.

With the new TV show that has come out i thought it was time to give these books ago and i'm glad i did i'll defiantly be reading the rest of the series. If you are after a book you will fly through this is defiantly one for you, there's vampire, demons, warlocks, werewolfs and warriors.

What do you think of this series? If you are watching the TV show what do you think of that too?
Thank you for reading.

Review: Dream a little Dream by Giovanna Fletcher

Pages- 419
Genre- Contemporary
Release date- 18th June 2015
Published by- Penguin

About this book-
Sarah is doing just fine...
Sure, she's been single for the last two years, and has to spend an uncomfortable amount of time around her ex-boyfriend, his perfect new girlfriend and all their mutual friends. And yes, her job as a PA to one of the most disgusting men in London is mind-numbingly tedious and her career is a constant disappointment to her mother. But is really okay. She is happy(ish).
So it's not surprising that when Sarah stars dreaming about a handsome stranger, she begins to look forward to falling asleep every night. Reality isn't nearly as exciting. That is until her dream-stranger makes an unexpected real-life appearance, leaving Sarah questioning everything she thought she wanted.
Because no one ever really finds the person of their dreams...do they?

My thoughts-
Sarah is confused why she has started to dream about Brett Last she hasn't seen him in years. With this on her mind she still has to deal with her job and her ex-boyfriend with his new girlfriend.

I really liked Sarah she is there for you, she puts up with stuff. Finally she has a chance to do something more with her life then sit on a desk. With this chance she finally meets Brett.
Sarah is confused why she is dreaming about a man who she hasn't seen in years. Then out of no where he turns up at her work. But it isn't the Brett who is in her dreams, real Brett is smaller, mousey brown hair and has green eyes not hazelnut eyes.
Sarah and Brett begin to develop an idea for a new TV show called "Grannies Go Gap". I would love to see this idea made into an actual TV show.

The pacing was slow at first but once you get the first couple of chapters read you will fly through this book.
I loved every moment of this book. This is my first book i have read from Giovanna i'm defiantly going to have to pick up her other books this year.

If you have read this book, what did you think of it?
Thank you for reading.
