About this books-
The Garretts are everything the Reeds are not. Loud, messy, affectionate. And every day from her rooftop perch, Samantha Reed wishes she was one of them . . . until one summer evening, Jase Garrett climbs up next to her and changes everything.

As the two fall fiercely for each other, stumbling through the awkwardness and awesomeness of first love, Jase's family embraces Samantha - even as she keeps him a secret from her own. Then something unthinkable happens, and the bottom drops out of Samantha's world. She's suddenly faced with an impossible decision. Which perfect family will save her? Or is it time she saved herself?

A transporting debut about family, friendship, first romance, and how to be true to one person you love without betraying another.

My thoughts-

Samantha not only has to deal with falling in love with Jase Garrett. But she has to deal with her mum, her mum new boyfriend and her best friend Nan.

I gave this book 4 stars on goodreads, i did really enjoy it. The beginning was slow to begin with but i think that helped with the romance between Samantha and Jase as it wasn't too fast like most books i have read where they fall instantly in love. I have no idea why it took me almost a week to finish this book, this book is one of those where you can start in the morning and finish in the afternoon.

Jase Garrett lives in a big family. I loved his family the way his mum accepted Samantha into the family straight away, they love each and it really shows in the writing. He is just perfect.
Samantha is the opposite, she only has one sister who is away for most of the summer and her mother who is very busy with her next election. But when her mother is around so is too busy.

This book isn't just about Jase and Samantha, it is also about Nan and her brother Tim, throughout you will learn about there struggles and how they are going to cope with them.

The only thing i was disappointed with was the ending with everything that happens i feel like there are many question that aren't answered.

If this books has been on your radar for awhile now i would defiantly pick it up, if you are looking  for a great contemporary this is a book for you.
